One of my favorite free applications (“Apps”) for my iPhone is Doodle Pro Free. I use it to jot down doodles at work. This is a great way to capture visual thoughts without writing down the imagery I would later draw. I wish the controls were easier to manipulate but I feel as though the options allowed are very comprehensive.

Classic Doodle Pro is drawing fun for the children between the ages 2-5. They remain engaged in the game for a good twenty minutes.  This is a great toy for business parents.  When child is occupied your life is a lot easier. At four years old we help him to get started and so we begin a drawing for him.  He easily traces and tries to learn all by himself. Sometimes we hold his hand to help him.  Drawing an easy object on the iPhone might be a little difficult yet a challenge at the same time.

We bought this for my son’s birthday. At four years old he absolutely adores Classicc Doodle app and playing on a cell phone. My son has a great time put his art onto the screen.  We bought this for my son’s birthday gift. He adores Doodle the Pad app and playing.

My son has a great time learning the letters of the alphabet.  He easily traces and tries to learn all by himself. Sometimes we hold his hand to and help him.  Drawing an easy object on the iPhone might be a little difficult but challenging at the same time.  He easily traces and tries to learn all by himself. Another app my son adores is the movie, “Cars” and everything and anything from his favorite characters are Lightning “McQueen” and Raoul. McQueen is the stamper that leaves tracks on the screen! There is also a screen-saver pen that is positioned for right- or left-handed drawing.  Use this with a snap-in pen holder with an easy-slide that you can use to magically clear the screen. And the built-in carry handle is great for kids on the go!  The movie, “Cars 2” has helped boost sales even higher.

My favorite pastime on my iPhone are Temple Run and Words With Friends Free 02/22/2012

My favorite iPhone game is “Temple Run.” This game is simply addicting and gets you through the boring and drawn out times of your day. I can't even begin to explain how delighted I was to have this application (“app”).  If you find yourself sitting in a boring study hall in school or waiting at the doctor's office, you can use your waiting time for game time. The good thing is that this app does not require WI-FI which means you can play just about anywhere.  The app is most suitable for fun at any age.  Anyone who wants to play will find the controls easy.  Diffidently learn the controls before perfecting your game. Most games don't get this praise but I definitely believe Temple Run deserves it.

Part of the game involves prize finding order to get out alive are the scenarios for that.  Temple Run is so much fun.  When I’m not playing this app then I quickly switch over to another app.

My other absolute favorite free app known is known as Words With Friends Free, from Zynga. f you have the freebie then you get pop-up ads.  Or, if you pay $2.99 you can have the “deluxe version.” I adore this word game because my vocabulary increases and is just downright fun.  You can play with random people or people you know.  I just started to play this game for fun, but now I am extremely addicted.  Whether waiting five or ten minutes I always pull out my Words with Friends game.  I like this but not as much I do with Temple Run. Making a few new friends from these games as you can chat with the person, even though do not know necessarily this person. This game is available for the iPod and Android phone. This is very helpful feature so now I can play anywhere anytime with any phone.

Between all the games on the market I think Word is great, but I’m going to have to go with Temple Run.  Words with Friends is an amazing entertaining app.  I do enjoy playing very much, but there is a limit to how many games you have going at one time and the small fee.  Because of this I’ve been unable to play.

Kaleidoscope, Talking Tom Cat, TouchyBooks, iZoo and etc are my kids' favorite FREE iPhone apps! 02/21/2012

I have done some detailed digging when trying to determine applications (“apps”) for my child.  There are so many apps to choose from.  Finding an age appropriate app isn’t really that difficult.  Of course finding the appropriate app for wee ones does take some sorting through.  Below are a few user-friendly apps

The top winner is ….”Kaleidoscope.” This app allows children to move the screen in and out like a real kaleidoscope. This is extremely entertaining for young eyes.

Another appropriate app is “Touchy Books.” This is a fantastic free app that gives you samples of books that you can either read to your child or are self read.  If you so choose, you can buy additional books as well.

iZoo is a great app for the young.  This app offers hours of entertainment that allows you to hear the actual animal sounds when you click on the animal's picture.   They love taking over the mouse.

Peek-a-zoo and Old Mac are also a lot of fun. The apps play music and interacts with games and other visual learning tools. All in all, I am highly impressed with these applications and the best part is they're FREE!  You should never pay more than $1.99 per app. Most run for $.99 or, yes –FREE!

Talking Tom Cat is a favorite app in our home. Tom is your pet cat and only responds to your touch.  He repeats what you say in a funny and engaging voice.  This produces hours of giggles while mommy gets her work done.

Click on the picture below to get the Android version of FREE Talking Tom Cat:

With a 1 ½ year-old child at home I am lucky enough to use the computer daily; if at all.  There are ways to allow the child to interact in the same manner as they see "mommy" communicating.  This will strengthen their computer skills when they are ready to start school.  And – mommy can get her work done.

The iPhone's multi-touch user interface is like trucks for boys and dollies for the girls. The children intuitively take over the iPhone and use as a toy.

Recently I was in an airport and could not help but notice the number of young children using their parents’ iPhone. They were engaged and satisfied, which led me to put more than a few apps on my iPhone for my daughter!

The very young are now catching up with technology with their cell phones. The children are advancing with a deeper knowledge of the computer.  Remember, the 1-year-olds play with different apps.  With the children slowly being introduced to technology at such a young age, I can’t help but wonder where our society will be in ten years…

TinyTower and Touch Mouse from Logitech are my favorite FREE iPhone apps 02/17/2012

My favorite iPhone application (“app”) is TinyTower. This game is simple and is a lot like playing SimTower. I use this as a game I can have fun with - my breather to relax.  The nice thing is that I can wake up in the morning and then click on the application briefly, enjoy the tower, and do some minor creative things like changing names, changing color schemes and then I don’t have to worry for several hours. This is such is a pleasant way to pass the time.  I play when I have time.  I do take a mini-break.  The game is not terribly time consuming. I like that there are different approaches to the game’s nuance and making the tiny people happy in a job that suits them, playing for money, or just creating a big tower is all part of the game.

If you have Kindle or similar eBook reader and want some guide about TinyTower, you can take a look at this guide in the Kindle Store

Touch mouse is another amazing app that is similar to the one that I used before. This app is a Logitech product.  Basically you use your iPod or iPhone as a touchpad/keyboard on the computer.  There are a couple other apps, which are similar, but this is 100% free.  This app allows me to project onto my 42' LED TV at home what I would normally view on my computer. I would like to use on a movie screen to see movies from my laptop, check for any e-mails, or view a You Tube video. With this app on my iPhone, I can simply connect the iPhone to my laptop while using a Wi-Fi network.  I can start using my iPhone as a mouse/keyboard too. What’s nice is I don’t have to reach out to my laptop to increase volume, adjust base, etc.

Touch Mouse is an incredibly easy app that is pretty much foolproof.  You’ll no longer need to fumble while using your laptop track pad or your roller ball mouse.  Imagine yourself lying on the couch when you realize you didn’t send that important e-mail.  With Touch Mouse, you can browse the web without leaving your couch, check your e-mails or just play a computer game on your television.

Around Me and Politico are my favorite FREE iPhone Apps 02/15/2012

I travel a lot.  Because of this, I continuously find myself in a new city, needing new information about where I am, about tourist attractions, restaurants and entertainment places, shopping sites, overnight lodging and car rentals.  And just as a precaution, I always take the time to search out facilities that provide medical care, should I need it.

Around Me, an application available on the iPhone, makes all of this information very easy for me to obtain.   I simply turn on my iPhone, click on Around Me and the application gives me an immediate, clear and detailed depiction of where I am and everything around me.  From my iPhone screen, I am able to determine the location of whatever I am looking for.  In addition to that, I can get directions to get there via map or a list format, whichever is easiest for me.  Those with an iPhone 3GS can also access a compass display to ensure they don’t get lost if they are on foot.  As if all of this was not already enough, this application is available in English, Japanese, German, Spanish, Italian and French.

The Around Me app is incredibly useful to me, but my favorite free iPhone application is Politico.  I am a student of Political Science and Politico is a great resource for all the latest and best political news.  Politico has a convenient and easy format that allows me to access and keep up with whatever political subject I want to learn more about, from morning headlines to breaking news.  I can keep up with what’s going on at the White House or on Capitol Hill. I am especially interested in the 2012 Presidential Race and with Politico I know I have up-to-the-minute information.  There is even an interactive feature where I can participate in polls or give my opinion about things that are of personal importance to me.

Generally, I make use of this application every single day.  Most often I catch up with the news of the world over breakfast but it is so easy and so accessible I also make use of Politico at various points throughout the day.

I downloaded the Politico app the first day I purchased my iPhone and have used it almost every day since.

Here is the Android version of Politico app (Also Free!)

Sports Tracker is my favorite App to help me train and play ball like Jeremy Lin ! 02/09/2012

Sports Tracker is my favorite iPhone App. I like it because Sports Tracker turns your iPhone into an interactive exercise diary. This app can track and analyze workout performances as you monitor everything from calories burned to average training speed and altitude.

This app can also store your work out data like how many free throws I made in a row for future reference and share it with friends for bragging rights.

With this App, I am sure I can horn my basketball skill with precision. Maybe one day I will get my shot as starting point guard like Jeremy Lin too...if I am 10 years younger and 10 inches taller...

The Chase mobile app keep me up to date with my mortgage 02/09/2012

The Chase Mobile app is my favorite free app. It has almost completely eliminated my need to go to the bank. With the app, I can deposit my checks, pay bills, send money to friends, check my balance, among other features.

It is so nice to have virtual bank in your palm. It keeps tracks of all my bills and most importantly, my car and mortgage payments. With the mortgage settlement news all over the net, this app is really a life saver.

I use it all the time to deposit checks, which saves so much time going to the ATM. I also use it to send money to friends, which also saves a lot of time because I don't always have cash on hand.

Stanza is one of my favorite free apps which enables to download books from various sources (many of which offer free titles), and also helps in transfering your own ePub, PDF or eReader titles from the free Stanza Desktop.

I use this app to download a lot of classic books, mostly for free too. The famous work "A Tale of Two Cities" by Charles Dickens is a must read!!

Purchasing and downloading is very simple in Stanza, especially free ebooks. It is also super easy to browse and download free books right in the app. You should check it out.

This is a post from Mashable

According to a new study from Archives of Neurology, playing brain stimulating games can actually improve your memory and delay or prevent Alzheimer's diseases. But Angry Birds, are you serious??

Well, scientist found many games requires focus - including Angry Birds. Which also give the brain a healthy workout. Reading, writing and playing games will slow the growth of a brain protein call "amyloid," which scientist think could be the cause of diseases related memory loss.

So, here is a study that shows Angry Birds could help your brain function. One more valid excuse to play the game all day long!!
